Where do you “get” a leader? The answer is, you don’t. Potential leaders must be recognized, properly trained, and continually developed in order to maximize their ability. It’s an investment. But when you have people on staff with true leadership capabilities, it will positively impact your bottom line more than anything else you can do for your business.

- NDIDA Leadership Class
Facilitated by Dave Glaspell, Corporate Human Services, Inc., Bismarck, this series of six monthly two-day sessions gives a comprehensive overview of skills and information necessary for employees to grow in leadership ability. Open to any dealership employee, classes generally run from October through March each year, with locations in eastern and western North Dakota. The Leadership class is considered to be a prerequisite to more advanced NDIDA Lifelong Learning classes such as the Parts and Service Course discussed below. The popularity of the Leadership Course has lead to requests for more department-specific classes. In the summer of 2007, NDIDA held its first “Parts and Service Management Essentials” classes, emphasizing the latest industry practices designed to significantly increase productivity in both the parts and service departments.
